Our Vision & History
Facilitrade was established in September 2000 by Janaki Ramachandran, who has worked extensively since 2006 across the Ageing, Disability, Home Care, and Aboriginal Housing sectors. Her deep commitment to delivering equitable and respectful services to marginalised communities has been a driving force in her career.
As a former Director of Amnesty International NSW in the early 1990s and a long-standing advocate for human rights, Janaki brings a values-based approach to all aspects of her professional practice. She believes that upholding human rights principles is essential in delivering effective and compassionate community services.
In response to the growing challenges in the disability sector, ranging from systemic delays and dissatisfaction to increasing legal disputes, Janaki refocused Facilitrade's expertise to support this area. Her comprehensive understanding of the sector, combined with a strong foundation in governance, innovative business strategy, and program management
